Innocent pleas entered by 13 on drug charges

Several of the 20 people arrested in a multi-agency drug round-up last week in Murray appeared in Calloway Circuit Court earlier this week.

During their arraignments Tuesday before Judge Dennis Foust, 13 people pleaded innocent to their drug charges. They were all represented by public defender Scott West and are scheduled for pre-trial conferences April 10 in circuit court.

n Roosevelt Allen Jr., 47, is charged with second-degree trafficking a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender. Judge Foust set his bond at $25,000 cash or property.

n Anthony Clinton is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

n Troy Keith Foster faces two first-degree trafficking cocaine offenses. Foust set Foster's bond at $25,000 cash or property.

n Linda Hyte, 30, has two separate cases in which she's charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, firearm-enhanced possession of marijuana, two counts of first-degree trafficking cocaine and second-degree persistent felony offender. Hyte, who also is known as “Peaches,” had her bond set at $50,000 for both cases.

n M.C. Johnson faces a first-degree trafficking cocaine charge. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or property.

n James A. Kendall, who also is known as “Bird,” faces charges of first-degree trafficking cocaine and second-degree persistent felony offender. Foust set his bond at $25,000 cash or property.

n Cloves Lee Ray, 50, is charged with first-degree trafficking cocaine. His bond was set at $20,000 cash or property.

n Terry Duncan Rule, 44, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-offense possession of drug paraphernalia, cultivation of marijuana (5 or more plants) and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or property.

n Donald M. Scott, 52, faces two counts of first-degree trafficking cocaine. His bond was set at $50,000 cash or property.

n In two cases, Gary Lynn Sims, 42, is charged with two counts each of first-degree trafficking cocaine and first-degree persistent felony offender. On behalf of his client, West made a motion for bond reduction and Foust set it at $50,000 cash or property for both cases.

n Roy A. Swift, also known as “Alonzo,” faces two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or property.

n James Williams, 29, faces three counts of first-degree trafficking cocaine in two cases. His bond was set at $50,000.

n Tyrone Williams, 23, is charged with first-degree trafficking cocaine. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or property.

For those Judge Foust set bonds, they also have to submit to court-ordered random drug tests.
