General Election deadline approaching
Calloway County Clerk Ray Coursey Jr. reminds prospective political candidates and potential voters of upcoming deadlines connected to the November General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Those wanting to run for two, open, at-large positions on the Murray Independent Board of Education and three district-restricted positions on the Calloway County Board of Education must do so before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Meanwhile all those qualified to register to vote must do so before 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, to vote in the general election.
Those wanting to vote absentee may now apply for an application. Deputy Clerk Lynn Paschall reports that the office is already receiving requests for absentee ballots. For more information concerning the deadlines, contact the clerk's office on the second floor of the Calloway County Courthouse or call 753-3923.
