Staff Report
The Murray Police Department recovered an ATV Saturday that had been reported stolen earlier that day to the Calloway County Sheriff's Department.
According to a press release from MPD, Officer Jay Herndon observed the stolen ATV at about 8:50 p.m. as the driver drove west on Poplar Street. When he attempted to stop the driver, Dustin Cobb, 23, of Murray, fled north on Seventh Street. He then allegedly fled on foot after wrecking the ATV on Main Street.
Police located and arrested Cobb at Sixth and Olive streets and he was taken to the Calloway County Jail.
Cobb was charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police in the first degree, operating an ATV on a roadway, having no operator's license and operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Police later returned the ATV to the owner.
