Various churches have released information concerning their worship services for the coming weekend as follows:

First Christian: The Rev. Ruth Ragovin and Tory Daughrity will bring the message at the 10:30 a.m. worship service on “Mary Did You Know?” with scripture from Luke 1:26-38. Special music will be presented by the Chancel Choir. Worship & Wonder, a Montessori-based worship experience for children 3 through third grade, is offered at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. 

First United Methodist: Dr. Rick C. Dye will speak at the 8:45 a.m. worship service on “More Joy,” with scripture from Philippians 1:3-11. 

Friendship Church of Christ: Charles Taylor will speak at the 11 a.m. worship service on “Things of Strangers,” with scripture from Judges 19. Taylor will also speak at the 5 p.m. service on “Forty Days in Canaan,” with scripture from Numbers 13.

Glendale Road Church of Christ: Steven Hunter will speak at the 9 a.m. worship service on “Preparing the Way of the Lord,” with scripture from Luke 3:1-6. Hunter will speak at the 6 p.m. service which will be a singing night.

Goshen United Methodist: Pastor April Arnold will speak at the 9 a.m. worship service on “The Gift of Love,” with scripture from Luke 1:67-79. Bible study for both Goshen and Kirksey will meet at 4 p.m. at Goshen. The children and youth activities for both churches will be from 5-6 p.m. at Goshen.

Grace Baptist: Pastor Kim Reeder will speak at the 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. worship services. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Kirksey United Methodist: Pastor April Arnold will speak at the 11 a.m. worship service on “The Gift of Love,” with scripture from Luke 1:67-79.

Palestine Methodist: Richard Burkeen will speak at the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. worship services. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. For a ride to church, call Brad Jones at 270-703-6377.

South Pleasant Grove: The Rev. David Allbritten will speak at the 10:45 a.m. worship service on “Advent, A Time to Unclutter,” with scripture from Luke 3:1-6. Special music, “Do You Hear What I Hear?” will be presented by the choir with Cindy Dunn, pianist, and Jane Hill, organist. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

In Our Churches

First Christian Church offer holiday events

First Christian Church will host a church-wide Advent Craft and Cookie Bake at noon Sunday, Dec. 9, in the fellowship hall, for all ages. A children’s skit and Christmas cantata will be at 10:30 am. Sunday, Dec. 16. The longest night service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, and the Christmas Eve service is at 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend all events.

‘Welcome to Bethlehem’ to be at Westside Baptist

“Welcome to Bethlehem” will be presented at Westside Baptist Church at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16. The public is invited to attend.
