MURRAY – Since 2013, the Murray First United Methodist Church has annually chosen an Outstanding Methodist Youth from the seventh through 12th grades. This is awarded to a youth who has demonstrated exceptional service to church, community and family.

This year’s recipient, Caroline Koenig, is an active member of UMY, serving as an acolyte and as a volunteer during Vacation Bible School, a spokesperson at the Hanging of the Greens, a member of the Chancel Choir and a substitute singer in the Praise Band.

In the community, Caroline has volunteered at Playhouse in the Park as a junior camp counselor and is a member of Box of Frogs and the Young Actors’ Guild. She is also the winner of several community-related writing awards.

She is completing her freshman year at Murray High School and has been a member of the volleyball team, the speech team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Spanish club and Future Business Leaders of America.

Caroline is the daughter of Steve and Staci Koenig of Murray.
