PADUCAH – The Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center is taking referrals for children 6-9 to attend its annual Camp BRAVEHEART from June 17-21.

Camp BRAVEHEART is a five-day, trauma-informed camp designed to help children heal and learn healthy coping mechanisms. It is based on the Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) principles and teaches children healthy attachment behaviors, emotional regulation skills and pro-social skills. Theses of the day throughout the camp include, “Use Your Words,” “Show Respect,” “Making Choices,” “Accepting No” and “Looking Forward.”

The public may call the Merryman House or email to make camper recommendations or to request more information. Lunch and two snacks are provided each day. The camp takes place on the Merryman House campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is facilitated by Dr. Emily Brame, Psy.D.
