Retirement celebration to be held
There will be a drive through retirement celebration for Teresa Speed for her many years of serving the Murray Independent School District. From 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 26, the community is invited to drive through the front circle of Murray High School. If anyone would like to leave a note or a card prior to this event, they may leave them at the Murray Board of Education Office on 13th Street.
Need Line seeks fans
The Murray-Calloway County Need Line is conducting a fan drive for families in our community who do not have a way to cool off during the summer. New fans may be dropped off at the Need Line office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 18 through Sept. 30. Need Line is at 509 N. Eighth St. For questions, call 270-753-6333.
American Legion Post 73 will meet
American Legion Post 73 of Murray will meet Thursday, June 25, at the American Legion Veterans’ Hall at 310 Bee Creek Drive. Food and fellowship is at 6:30 p.m. and the business meeting is at 7 p.m. All veterans are invited to attend.
Steward Cemetery Homecoming canceled

Bazzell Cemetery donations needed
The Bazzell Cemetery, located on Bazzell Cemetery Road just southwest of Coldwater, is in need of donations to help with the upkeep of the cemetery. Bazzell Cemetery is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is approved with the IRS as a nonprofit charitable organization eligible to receive tax deductible donations. Checks should be made payable to the Bazzell Cemetery Fund and sent to Willis Sanders, 8224 KY 121 N., Murray, KY 42071 or call 270-489-2212.
