The episode of HGTV’s Lakefront Bargain Hunt Kentucky Lake will be shown this Sunday, June 16, at 7 p.m. CST. It was previously scheduled to air Sunday, June 23. The episode will feature local Realtor Lindy Knight as she previews homes with a couple from Missouri seeking to find a vacation home.

‘Pinta’ and ‘Nina’ to be at Grand Rivers

The “Pinta” and the “Nina,” replicas of Columbus’ ships, will open in Grand Rivers Thursday, June 13, at Green Turtle Bay. The ships will be docked until their departure early Monday, June 24. Admission charges are $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors, $6.50 for students 5-16 and free for children 4 and under. The ships are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. No reservations are necessary. Teachers or organizations wishing to schedule a 30-minute guided tour for a minimum of 15 with a crew member should call 1-787-672-2152 or email ninapintatour@gmail.com. Cost is $5.

Bed-building event to be Saturday

The KY KenLake Region of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is holding a bed-building event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Lowe’s parking lot at 1400 Lowes Drive. The local chapter is working in conjunction with approximately 120 chapters across the nation to build beds for Bunks Across America. The organization is also asking for donations of new, twin-size bedding (sheets/comforters/pillows). Legion to conduct flag day activity

The American Legion Post 73 of Murray will conduct a U.S. flag retirement ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Post Veterans’ Hall at 310 Bee Creek Drive. Anyone with a worn U.S. flag can bring it to the Post from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, June 12. The public is welcome to attend this ceremony.

Movie in the Park to be held Friday

The Movies in the Park showing of “Ralph Breaks the Internet” is at 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Rotary Amphitheatre. All kids will receive a free bag of popcorn from the movie sponsor.

Donations needed for used book sale

The Murray Middle School Band is preparing for its annual Fourth of July Used Book Sale on the front lawn of Murray Middle School. The funds raised through this annual sale will go toward transportation and special instruction for the upcoming school year. Donations of gently used books, games, puzzles and toys may be left at the front office of the school until the end of June.

MCC Park Board meets Monday

The Murray-Calloway County Park Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Miller Courthouse Annex. The finance committee will meet at 5 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.

Side by Side exhibit to open Sunday

The Murray Art Guild Community Art Center announces the opening of the 2019 Side by Side exhibit from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, June 16, in the Mary Ed Mecoy Hall Gallery on the sixth floor of the Price Doyle Fine Arts Building at Murray State University. Side by Side is a collaborative program with local artists, MSU art education and the MAG for children with disabilities, and is sponsored by a grant from the Very Special Arts Kentucky. WATCH needs aluminum cans

The WATCH Center at 702 Main St. needs aluminum cans for an ongoing fundraising project. Cans may be dropped off any time by driving through the parking lot on the west side of the center and placing them in the cotton wagon.
