Governor gets look at the newest weapon

Blake Kennedy, an ag systems student and Murray State University drone/UAS summer intern from Puryear, Tennessee, left, tells Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear about a spray drone that the Murray State Hutson School of Agriculture is using during a visit the governor made to the Hutson School’s West Farm several days ago. The governor was at the West Farm for the unveiling of a solar heat pump for the farm’s main shop, but noticed the drone on display and decided to have a look. Hutson School Dean Dr.Tony Brannon said the drone is a newly-released product from a company partially supported by the school’s longtime partner — AgLaunch of Memphis, Tennessee. Brannon said this drone is particularly effective for small plot work with an emphasis on fungicide protection.
