MURRAY — Women’s Health of Murray at Murray-Calloway County Hospital has welcomed Anita Ross, CNM, MSN, as the newest midwife joining Dr. Dawn N. Deeter and nurse practitioners Sherry Freeman and Lauren Easterwood.
Ross most recently worked at the McKenzie Medical Center in McKenzie, Tennessee, and has delivered more than a 1,000 babies in her 16 years as a midwife.
She completed her Bachelors of Nursing at the University of Tennessee-Martin and then finished her master’s and midwifery certificate at Frontier Nursing University.
“I go to work every day to assist God with a miracle so I think I have the best job in the world,” Ross commented.
As a midwife, she will be caring for all general obstetrics and gynecology patients, as well as expecting mothers from conception through delivery and post-partum care. Ross is available to see patients daily by appointment.
Originally from McKenzie, Ross will be relocating her family to Murray. She and husband Patrick have six children – Morgan, 23, Beau, 22, Blake, 20, Sydney, 18, Nicholas, 16, and Parker 7. When she is not working, Anita enjoys spending time with her family, reading, fishing, and going to the beach on vacation.
