641 South work

An excavator lifts a shovel full of dirt and rock from a hole Wednesday afternoon at the construction site of the southbound lanes for the new U.S. 641 South at the intersection of Tabard Drive in Murray. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 1 Public Information Officer Keith Todd said this work is believed to be associated with culvert placement that is occurring at different places between Glendale Road and Clarks River, within the first mile of the expansion of the highway. A pipe can be seen awaiting installation in the foreground. Todd said he was told Wednesday that the first mile of the project is about 43% complete.
