Been a long tme ... rain

The reflection of Sparks Hall appears Monday morning in a puddle along North 15th Street on the Murray State University campus. Sights like this have been few and far between the past nearly two months from a lack of rain in the area, but that stretch was interrupted by a rain system that moved through the Murray area, starting Sunday afternoon and continued into Monday morning. Justin Holland of Murray, official government observer for the National Weather Service Office in Paducah, said 1.12 inches of rain was recorded, which won’t break the Stage 1 drought for western Kentucky but did provide a break from the dry.
