GILBERTSVILLE — Kentucky State Police said Sunday that the death of a Marshall County man that was discovered Saturday night was caused by a dog attack.
In a news release, Trooper Bryan Luckett, public affairs officer for KSP Post 1 in Hickory, said a preliminary autopsy Sunday in Madisonville determined that sharp-force trauma from a dog attack claimed the life of Brian S. Butler, 46, of Benton. His body was discovered in a driveway Saturday night in Gilbertsville.
Luckett said two pit bull dogs were located in the area Saturday night, near where Butler was found. Those dogs have been quarantined by Marshall County Animal Control until further information can be gathered.
Luckett also said it is possible that other dogs were involved in the deadly attack.
