Let it snow

A group of boys are seen having a blast on the hill at Murray State University’s Curris Center Thursday afternoon after Murray received about 4 inches of snow throughout the day. Sledding in front are, from left, Oliver Rosa and Henri Acreman-Nyamwala, and behind them are Cole Morris and Colton Tennyson. Justin Holland, Murray’s official government weather observer for the National Weather Service’s Paducah office, said that while Murray got 4 inches, he received reports from New Concord around Kentucky Lake of 5-5.5 inches. Other parts of the county got at least 3 inches. While most of the city’s major roads were easily cleared on Thursday, the overnight single-digit temperatures created a big risk for black ice, so Holland warned morning commuters to be extremely careful on their way to work this morning.
