MISD begins in-person classes

After more than two weeks of online instruction, Murray Independent School District began in-person classes Thursday. Third grade teacher Amanda Pittman is seen checking students Evie Parr, left, Eli White and Wesley Rifeoff off her list as children board an afternoon bus at Murray Elementary School. The district is taking a phased approach to reopening, with kindergarten through fifth grade having returned Thursday and grades 6-9 returning Monday. Grades 10-12 will come back on Tuesday. Through at least Oct. 16, Murray High School students are scheduled to attend classes four days a week, with Wednesday being an online instruction day.
