One of the most hotly-contested races of the Kentucky primary election was the Democratic Party U.S. Senate race, which came down to two candidates, Amy McGrath of Georgetown and Charles Booker of Louisville. Monday, representatives from both campaigns were in Murray for the count of the final votes received in Calloway County. They then took time to shake hands with each other before Tuesday’s final votes statewide were revealed. Here, McGrath representative Jack Hostager of Paducah, left, and Murray’s Chris Allen, who represented Booker, engage in that handshake at the Calloway County Courthouse.
