641 South wreck

Calloway County Sheriff Sam Steger and Calloway Deputy and Calloway County Fire-Rescue Assistant Chief Danny Williams, right, survey a car that crashed Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 641 South, north of Hazel. The car came to rest in a ditch along the northbound lane of the highway. Steger said the wreck did result in injuries to the driver, who was not identified, but the driver was conscious and communicating to first responders. CCFR Chief Tommy Morgan said firefighters did use extrication tools on the vehicle, but not to free the victim. He said those tools were used on the roof to provide ventilation inside the vehicle. The victim was taken by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
