Super Load

Gerald Coles of Midway said he had been paying attention to news reports about what the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet had called a “superload” and its journey through western Kentucky last week when he heard it had stopped in Trigg County and would not be moving again until today. So he and other family members took a venture Saturday to find it, and were successful. This image shows a part of the load, which the KYTC said 195 feet in length with a 19-axle trailer. It is hauling an over-dimensional, almost 200-ton load from near Cincinnati, Ohio to Aberdeen, Mississippi that includes an oversize chemical tank, which requires travel on back roads as it would seriously disrupt traffic on main roads.
