MURRAY — Murray police say that a Mayfield man was arrested Thursday after apparently having driven a stolen vehicle while in possession of illegal drugs.
In a news release, Murray Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Brant Shutt said Officer Matt Davis observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Marshall County traveling on KY 80. A traffic stop was then executed on Coles Campground near the intersection of Mallory Circle.
Shutt said the driver of the vehicle, identified as Danny Vibbert, 27, of Mayfield, was placed under arrest.
Further investigation resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine in the vehicle, he said. Vibbert was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (methamphetamine). The vehicle was then returned to its owner.
Individuals facing charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
