Tuesday afternoon wreck injures 1

Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Richard Steen surveys a car that was involved in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon  at the intersection of US 641 North and Poor Farm Road in Murray. In a news release, CCSO said that emergency personnel responded at about 3:44 after several 911 calls were made reporting the crash. CCSO said that a 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Michelle Thomas, 44, of Cadiz, was southbound on 641 when it collided with a 2016 Nissan Sentra driven by Kimberly Edwards, 46, of Murray, who was eastbound on Poor Farm. Edwards’ car left the roadway and struck a utility pole and she was extricated from the wreckage by mechanical means before being taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of what were described as non life-threatening injuries. CCSO Deputy Tom Bailey is investigating the wreck. CCSO was assisted by Calloway County Fire-Rescue, Murray-Calloway County Ambulance Service, Murray Fire Department and Murray Police Department.
