James Leslie Erwin

James Leslie Erwin, 73, of Crossland, Kentucky, died Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray. 

He was born Nov. 22, 1945, in Murray, Kentucky, to  James Warren and Polly Ellis Erwin, who preceded him in death.

He was retired from the Calloway County Health Department after 32 years of service. He was a member of South Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the United Methodist Men’s Group.

James is survived by his wife, Sheri Marshall Erwin, whom he married June 24, 1995, in Murray; two daughters, Leslie Boggess and Megan Ottway and husband Chase, all of Murray; two sons, James Ross Erwin and Brad Erwin and wife Crystal, all of Crossland; 10 grandchildren, Maddie Erwin, Ellie Erwin, Morgan Erwin, Jase Erwin, Reagan Settle, Aubrey Settle, Brinn Erwin, Clay Ottway, Caitlin Garner and Erin Williamson; and three great-grandchildren, Gabe Williamson, Weston Garner and Paisley Jo Renee Downing. 

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at South Pleasant Grove Untied Methodist Church with David Allbritten officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the church.

Keith Cloar 

Keith Cloar, 70, of Mayfield, Kentucky, died Friday, June 21, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was a member of Pilot Oak Baptist Church, a retired employee of Saputo Dairy Foods and a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Damon Cloar, and his parents, Ervin Allen Cloar and Catherine “Bill” Hailey Cloar.

Mr. Cloar is survived by his wife, Brenda Yonts Suiter Cloar; two sons, Chris Suiter and Nick Suiter both of Mayfield; one aunt, Robbie Tanner of Union City, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Bailey Suiter, Bryce Suiter, Kendyl Suiter and Harper Suiter, all of Mayfield. 

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Pilot Oak Baptist Church with Jimmy Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the church.

Alan Houston, 54, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, June 20, 2019, at his home. 

He was born March 8, 1965, in Murray.

He was employed by Kendell Used Cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Dwight Houston.

Mr. Houston is survived by his wife, Debby Broach Houston of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; his mother, Martha Standridge and stepfather, Dexter Standridge of Gilbertsville; and a brother, Jimmy Dale Houston of Murray.

A celebration of life will at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Kendell Used Cars at 200 Poplar St. in Murrray.
