Sara 'Kelly' Jane Jones Phillips

Sara “Kelly” Jane Jones Phillips, 77, of Wartrace, Tennessee, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

She was born in Lynn Grove, Kentucky, to Carlos and Ruby Mae Williams Jones.

She worked in sales and marketing for Magneteck before her retirement. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Beechgrove. She enjoyed her flower garden and was an excellent cook and decorator.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Mac Jones.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband of 30 years, Roy Phillips; her children, Janene Sinks of Wartrace, Stan Phillips and wife Jill and Rick Phillips and wife Janet, all of McMinnville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Josh Chappell and wife Rainee, Ashley Chappell, Allison Page, Axie Vaughn and husband Josh, Tyler Phillips and Katie Phillips; her great-grandchildren, Emily Miles, Jasmine Colbert, Sophia Chappell, Jackson Chappell, Mia Widenhofer and Emerson Vaughn; a sister, Gwynn Barber of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the funeral home.

Frank Fazi

Frank Fazi, 87, of Murray, Kentucky, died at 8:42 p.m.  Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

He was born the son of an immigrant coal miner in Hardburly in Perry County, Kentucky, on June 22, 1931.

He served Murray State University as director of printing services, assisted with the publication of the "Shield" and served as a videographer for Racer Athletics for many years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Allie Terry Fazi; his wife, Patricia Ann Overshiner Fazi, whom he married Sept. 9, 1957, in Hazard, Kentucky; a brother, Joseph Fazi Jr. of Detroit, Michigan; and a sister, Kathline Litteral of Apple Valley, California.

Mr. Fazi is survived by a son, Christopher Lee Fazi and wife Kristina of Farmington; a daughter, Dina Lynne Fazi Lear and husband Ronnie of Hartselle, Alabama.; his grandsons, Daniel Elliott (Katie) of Mayfield and Nicolas Fazi of Farmington; a sister, Pauline Cousins of Rogers City, Michigan; special friends, Marilynn Woods and Tommy Doughty; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the MSU Athletic Department for unrestricted funds at 217 Roy Stewart Stadium, Murray, KY 42071.

Bronda S. Parker, 83, of Murray, Kentucky, died the morning of Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. 

She was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Murray, to Ruble Lockhart and Nadine Hopkins Lockhart.

She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Gerald T. Parker of Murray, whom she married Sept. 25, 1955, in Yuma, Arizona; one daughter, Sharon L. Boulton and husband Jon of Paducah; one son, Thomas R. Parker and wife Lori of Powder Springs, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jason Goodyke and wife Detreous of Paducah, Ryan Parker and wife Jennifer of Kennesaw, Georgia, Patricia Horsley and husband Danny of Powder Springs, Mallory Strickland and husband Todd of Dallas, Georgia, and Brandon Parker and wife Ocoee of Roswell, Georgia; 14 great-grandchildren, Azyln Goodyke, Preston Goodyke, Makayla Parker, Savannah Parker, Peyton Parker, Holton Parker, Saylor Parker, Adam Horsley, Anna Horsley, Emma Horsley, Price Strickland, Tripp Strickland, Lacey Strickland and Madeline Parker. 

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the Murray City Cemetery with Danny Horsley officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 2:45 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.

Murlene Crouch, 87, of Martin, Tennessee, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Diversicare of Martin, Tennessee. 

She was born Dec. 28, 1931, in Calloway, County, Kentucky, to Clannon Gamble and Izella Green Gamble.

She was a homemaker and a member of Coldwater Methodist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Crouch; one son, Sherwin Crouch; a son-in-law, Gary Ray; one great-grandson, Brady Ray; three sisters, Thelma Rose, Margie Myers and Ruby Gamble; and one brother, Edmond Gamble.

Mrs. Crouch is survived by two daughters, Trecia Ray  and Gidget Manning and husband Michael, all of Murray; two sisters, Donna Wheatley of Almo and Eva Siress of Benton; three brothers, Kenneth Gamble, Paul Gamble and Lee Roy Gamble, all of Benton; eight grandchildren, Bradford Ray, Brock Ray, Brinden Ray, Ben Ray, Marcus Manning, Nick Manning, Danny Crouch and Jared Crouch; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Crouch, Tanner Crouch, Kimmie Crouch, Max Ray, Mason Ray, Caitlynn Ray, Audrey Ray and Chandler Crouch.

Harold Vaughan

Harold Vaughan, 90, of Murray, Kentucky, died Monday, March 4, 2019, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Akron, Ohio, to Dewey Goble Vaughan and Farrah B. Carr Vaughan.

He retired as the owner and operator of Five Points Welding Shop and Vaughan’s Wrecker and Crane Service. He was of Baptist faith and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hayden Vaughan and Goble Vaughan; one son, Donald Gene Vaughn; and two great-grandchildren, Madden Fox and Matrix Fox. 

Mr. Vaughan is survived by three daughters, Joella Parks and husband Larry, Gail Gipson and special friend Johnny Miller and Sherry Fox and husband Chester, all of Murray; two sons, Michael Vaughn and wife Georgia of Kirksey and Jason Vaughn and wife Lindsey of Mayfield; one sister, Linda Rickman of Mayfield; one brother, J.T. Vaughan of Mayfield; 14 grandchildren, Stacy Clark, Danny Gipson, Shane Fox, Justin Fox, Darren Vaughn, Lauren Hayden, Cody Vaughn, Jaxon Vaughn, Conner Holmes, Ella Sanderson, Jeff Parks, Angie McCuiston, Charlie Dinkins and Brandi Hayden; and 18 great-grandchildren, Adam Clark, Hannah Clark, Ethan Clark, Eric Parks, Kristen Parks, Chelsie McCuiston, M.J. McCuiston, Hallie Hayden, Zachary T. Hayden, Hailey Hayden, Reagan Dinkins, Patton Dinkins, Kynzlee Fox, Kylee Fox, Maddox Fox, Jacob Fox, Jackson Fox and Hunter Goodman.
