My mother always scolded me when I used the word “fart.” It isn’t a nice thing to say. I agree, mom. Nonetheless we would say it (and do it) and giggle.

I couldn’t help thinking about the green initiatives and what would happen if all 5 plus billion people and millions of livestock all flatulated at the same time. What a stinky world it would be. How could we go on living with all that methane?  L-O-L, as they say.

Sorry for the elementary humor.  In reality, it is no laughing matter when it comes to the bloviations of today’s political partisans who desire to shred our Constitution of its power and use emotional appeals to redirect sensibility and moral compass. Lately, I have heard from many who are disgusted over left leaning leaders that attempt to outdo one another with anti-American propaganda. Almost always people express shock and, in some cases, literally drop their jaw when commenting on the extremes.

Listening to Democrats with their prosecutorial tone as they interrogated Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker last week produced an internal conflict within me that led me to lament for our country.  I surmise liberals will attempt everything in their power to undermine the president now that they have a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives. I had to press delete on the video feed fearing my innards would gush forth.

But it goes on. The extreme “Green” agenda promoted by the new darling of the party, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and now endorsed by “top” Democrats considering a run for the White House, is evidence that the Democrat Party is no-longer Democratic. Time to call in the Dictionary police and arrest them for using a name in vein. Perhaps Democratic Socialist fits, but as one professor told me, these are not Socialist agendas, they are Communist.

Oxford’s online dictionary says Communism is, “a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.” Whereas Socialism is “a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

When a government gains control of every part of life, grabs most of your money and property and realigns every organization to control your life, they are communist. We already practice some Socialism. Social Security is one. Medicare and Medicaid are also examples. These are back-stops, a safety net if you please, that provide a system of support for those who are older and for those who cannot.

Health care for all (that includes abortion), like a Medicare system would cost trillions of dollars; a job for all if you want it (but if you don’t, no problem you will still earn something) is mind boggling. More trains, no planes, and no emission automobiles would cost trillions. Regulating farmers to limit cow flatulence among agricultural regulations and forcing all building owners to make expensive upgrades to be energy efficient is illogical.

How do we afford this type of country? You guessed it; taxes on steroids! If you think the payroll tax in Murray is unfair, just open your heart, mind and wallet and elect the next class of Socialist/Communist leaders. Even hearing the free-for-all discussion is enough to be troubling.

Consequently, we need to send a clear message to those who are seeding these ideas forward. First, if you are still a registered Democrat, you can make your voice heard by changing your registration. Second, you can send a letter or email to your Congressman or Senators letting them know you support our Constitution and our Democracy, and, third, you can vote for Republicans who will fight against the liberalism. God Bless the U.S.A.
