As many of you already know, I have stepped down as the sports editor at the Murray Ledger & Times. Tuesday, Sept. 29, was my last official day. It was a pleasure getting to cover this area’s athletes and stories and I will miss being on the sidelines for the big games and bigger moments.

MURRAY — In the year of COVID-19, a soccer result that hasn’t happened in over 15 years became a possibility. With the games last night meaning nothing towards district standings, there was no need for a winner to be decided thus the result in the girls’ game ended in a 3-3 tie.

MURRAY — This season’s installment of the Crosstown Classic football game has been canceled due to a Calloway County player testing positive for COVID-19. That positive test requires the Lakers football team to begin a 14-day quarantine period.
