Bounce Brothers

Murray State guard Shaq Buchanan skies for a dunk in the waning moments of a home game earlier this year while Ja Morant looks on. The Bounce Brothers are reunited in Memphis.

MEMPHIS — Shaq Buchanan made an announcement via Twitter on Saturday that sent waves throughout Racer nation.

The tweet simply read “Thank you for the opportunity @memgrizz all I needed was a chance.”

With that announcement came the realization that the self-proclaimed Bounce Brothers were set to be together again.

Buchanan will play in the Summer league for the Grizzles and try to earn a spot on the roster for the preseason, but as he said, he just needed a chance. Ja Morant has already indicated that he will not be participating in the Summer league, but if Buchanan can play himself into a roster spot there will be plenty for Racer fans to cheer for in Memphis.

We’ve seen the things that Morant and Buchanan can do when together, from alley-oop lobs to breakaway dunks.

Only time will tell if Racer fans will get to see them bounce again, and with a potential hole at guard it’s a definite possibility.
